"IN ADVANCE, SORRY THIS IS SO LONG, BUT I HAD TO VENT.
My sister and I were at the West Ashley Walmart yesterday afternoon and customer service made an announcement advising the owner of a white pickup to go out and take care of the dog in the truck, that it was in need of assistance. I assumed after the first announcement, and not hearing anything for awhile, that the owner of the truck left. Abo...ut 10 - 15 minutes later though, they made another announcement. A couple of minutes later, I went up to customer service and asked if the owner of the truck had ever gone out, and with hesitation I was told no. I asked if they knew where the truck was parked, or if anyone called Charleston Police Dept., and was again told no. It was approximately 97* in the shade, much less being in a car, so I called CPD, requested an officer, and my sister and I went out to the parking lot to look for the truck. When we got out to the parking lot, the original person who complained flagged my sister down. When we got over there, we saw an older Dalmatian puppy in the truck. The windows in the truck were approximately 1/4 of the way down and the poor dog was just panting to beat the band. The original complainer got some water and a cup so that we could give the dog water, and how ironic, there were open beer cans in the cup holders of the truck, bet they didn't go without hydration, if that's what you want to call it. Anyway, approximately ten minutes later, for a total time of approximately 30 minutes, CPD arrived, called their animal control, unlocked the truck and my sister got the dog out of the truck and put her in the cruiser. In the meantime, after being in WALLYWORLD for over an hour, the driver of the truck, Thomas Cruiz, came out, advising that he always left the dog in the truck, because he had to take the dog where ever he went, because he could not leave the dog in the house. Not only did Mr Cruiz not have a valid DL, he didn't see anything wrong with leaving the dog in the truck, he saw nothing wrong with the open beer cans in the cup holders, and he stated he works at a VET CLINIC........OMGosh. WEEEEELLLLLLLL, CPD Animal control arrived............
(I AM SO FREAKING PISSED OFF I DON'T EVEN WANT TO FINISH THIS.) and talk about a slap in the face, kick in the ass, LET YOUR ANIMALS DIE IN A CAR BECAUSE YOUR A FREAKING IDIOT, BECAUSE WE WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, GAVE THE DOG BACK TO THE DRIVER, NO TICKET, NOOOOTTTHING, NOOOOTTTHING, NOOOOTTTHING.
WAY TO GO CHARLESTON POLICE DEPT ANIMAL CONTROL

Please tell me that anyone who reads this would agree that leaving a dog in a hot car is not acceptable. Please also tell me that you would stand up for that animal when they cannot defend themself. Please say you would at least call the police. Please?
