Here's guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica playing the National Anthem last Friday night (May 3rd) before the Giants game, where it was declared "Metallica Night." In addition to playing the Anthem, members of Metallica also threw out the first pitch. The guitars used by Hetfield and Hammett were later auctioned off for charity

I know there are plenty of Redskins fans here in the lowcountry, so I am wondering what you think.  Actually anyone that follows football should chime-in.

A member of the Washington D.C. Council said he plans to submit a resolution calling on the Washington Redskins to change their nickname because it is "racist and derogatory" and "it's time to make a change."

The council member is David Grosso, and he suggested the team change its name to "Redtails" in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen, a pioneering group of African-American pilots who served the United States in World War II.

"You can still sing the song and everything," Grosso, told The Washington Post and then sang, "Hail ... to the ... Redtails."
