Even the big boys are having to think about where their food is coming from!
Recently I talked about this story out of the UK where horse and donkey meat is making it's way into beef. It's a real problem and it's causing people to eat a lot less meat.
I'm an advocate for eating real food and knowing where your food comes from. Now does this mean I don't like to eat crap every once in a while? Nope. It means that I love food and I love to know what I'm putting in my body and I'll be damned if I'm going to let other people decide what I'm ingesting. If I can have control over it, I will. If I can't always have control, I'm not going to sweat it though. I just prefer to know where it comes from if I can.
Well now there is this report that Nestle has pulled their Butoni frozen meals from Italy and Spain due to traces of Horse DNA. You see, even these huge companies can't keep track of the quality of their ingredients. I hope this is the return of the small farmers!
